A large, sun-filled terrace and true ski-in/ski-out access set the tone at this first-floor apartment in the peaceful Les Carats corner of Val d'Isère. Facing south-east, it catches the light through the afternoon, and there is space for up to seven. The layout works for a family or friends holidaying together.
The living room has a television and DVD player and flows out to the terrace. It is a wonderful place to sit once the skiing is done. The well-equipped kitchen is a pleasure to cook in, with a dishwasher, an oven, a Nespresso machine, a waffle maker and a raclette set for an Alpine night. It works well for group meals after a day on the mountain.
The master bedroom shares the sunny aspect and has a double bed with an en-suite shower room. A second bedroom holds two singles and a set of bunks, good for children or friends sharing. Two bathrooms serve the apartment, with a washer-dryer tucked into the entrance cupboard.
Outside, a ski locker with a boot dryer keeps boots dry and skis out of the apartment, welcome with the piste on the doorstep. Beds are made up for arrival, with fresh linen, towels and an end-of-stay clean included. A local concierge service is on hand for extras such as a chef, ski passes or grocery deliveries.
