Presentation
A short, level stroll from the centre of Val d'Isère, this ground-floor apartment occupies a small, quiet building, handy for everything while staying out of the fray. The Olympic cable car is nearby, ready to carry you up to the legendary Face de Bellevarde. Bright and roomy, it spreads across 105 square metres, with four bedrooms and space for eight. It also comes in at a friendly price for this rather pricey resort, making it a great fit for a family holiday or friends sharing on a budget.
The south-facing living room is the heart of the apartment, filled with sun through much of the day and opening onto a large terrace. That outdoor space is a real bonus with children (there is snowman building potential!), or is somewhere for adults to relax with a drink once the skis are off. The kitchen is well set up for self-catering, with a ceramic hob, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso machine. A flat-screen TV and DVD player see to quiet evenings in.
Four bedrooms sleep eight in a flexible mix. Two have double beds, and a third double comes with its own washbasin. The remaining room is intended for younger guests, with a set of bunks and a pull-out single that are each just 180cm long, so perfect for children or teenagers bunking up together, but not suitable for taller adults. Two bathrooms and three toilets keep the mornings moving.
A ski locker with a boot dryer sits by the door so you are all prepped for the next day, and a garage under the building keeps the car out of the weather. Bed linen and towels are provided, with the beds made up before you arrive and a mid-week towel change. In winter, a daily tidy keeps things fresh through the week.
With its sunny terrace, central position and keen price, this is a smart base in Val d'Isère. From here you can ski or snowboard straight into the vast Espace Killy, where 300 kilometres of pistes link Val d'Isère with neighbouring Tignes.
