Presentation
Vaulted ceilings and a wealth of exposed beams give Chalet Whistler's living space plenty of alpine drama. It is catered, set on two levels in Val d'Isère and sleeps eight in four bedrooms. Twin beds throughout make it a good match for a sizeable party of adults or a family with older children.
The whole first floor is one big living room, tucked beneath the eaves. Grey sofas are drawn up to a log fire in a stone surround. Beyond them, the dining table has room for all eight, next to a kitchen with an island. Large windows open onto a balcony with mountain views.
All four bedrooms are on the ground floor, each with an en-suite: three have shower rooms and one has a bath with a handheld shower. They also come with a TV and USB charging points, plus a safe in a wardrobe with interior lighting. Two open onto small balconies of their own, and a separate WC sits under the stairs.
Each of the six catered days begins with a cooked or continental breakfast. Back from the slopes, you'll find afternoon tea and freshly baked cakes waiting. Dinner caps the day, a three-course meal served with complimentary wine after an apéritif and canapés. Wednesday brings the hosts' day off, and with it an evening out among the resort's restaurants.
Kit is stored in a ski locker room shared with the other chalets in the building. On arrival the beds are already made, with towels and toiletries laid on. A clean comes midway through the stay and another at the end, and Wi-Fi is free.
Fireside evenings, a balcony with a view and the hosts' cooking give Chalet Whistler real charm, and the lively centre of Val d'Isère is close by. Eight friends heading into the 300 km Tignes-Val d'Isère Ski Area will come home to a place full of character.
