Presentation
Out on the terrace, Chalet Quebec keeps a hot tub just for its guests. Set over two storeys in Val d'Isère, the catered home sleeps eight in four bedrooms, suiting a large family or a good-sized group of friends.
Upstairs, the lounge and dining area share one light, airy room, warmed by a cosy open fire. Its balcony, shared with neighbouring Chalet Ontario, is the place to sit out after a good day's skiing.
One twin is up on the first floor, its bathroom fitted with a bath and a separate shower cubicle. Whoever sleeps there can take the steps from the balcony down to the hot tub. On the ground floor are a double, furnished with a desk and chair, plus two more twins. All three have en-suite shower rooms, with doors straight out to the terrace. There's a TV in every bedroom, along with USB charging points and a safe in a lit wardrobe.
Choose a cooked or continental breakfast, and come back from the slopes to freshly baked cakes at afternoon tea. With your hosts off duty on Wednesday, that night is free to sample the après-ski in Val d'Isère's lively, partly pedestrianised centre. On the other six evenings, dinner opens with an apéritif and canapés, followed by three courses with complimentary wine.
Wi-Fi is free throughout the chalet, and the building's ski and boot room is where everyone gets kitted up. Your beds are ready on arrival, with bathrobes, slippers, towels and toiletries laid on. A mid-stay clean is part of the week too.
Chalet Quebec teams a hot tub of its own with a fire-warmed lounge, and the combination makes for a wonderful week in Val d'Isère. For eight friends who ski together, or a family that holidays in numbers, the days belong to the 300 km Tignes-Val d'Isère Ski Area.
