A gold-leaf swimming pool designed by Christian Lacroix and an outdoor hot tub headline Chalet Marco Polo, an award-winning 1,000 m² residence in Val d'Isère. The slopes are 200 metres away, with the centre of the village the same short walk. Six en-suite bedrooms sleep 14, ten adults and four children, which works for a large group or several families travelling together.
Rich timber, intricate detailing and statement lighting set the tone inside. At the centre of the main living area is a striking fireplace, with an open-plan lounge and dining space opening onto a generous terrace looking onto La Face piste. Heated outdoor seating keeps that terrace usable in the depths of winter.
Entertaining is what this chalet is built for. A private après-ski bar sets the mood, and several lounges let the evening move at its own pace. The wine cellar and fromagerie make a more intimate setting for tastings, while the games room has a pool table, darts and a racing simulator. Film nights are covered by a drop-down projector screen.
