Presentation
Perched on the hillside above Val d'Isère, Chalet Appaloosa looks out across the resort. Its own wellness area holds a large hot tub and a steam room. This catered home sleeps 12 over six bedrooms, ideal for a larger circle of friends or a few families sharing the week. The building steps down through five floors, with a lift serving every level bar the mezzanine.
Living space comes in two parts. The dining room sits beside the open-plan kitchen, so the hosts serve straight from the stove to the table. Upstairs on the mezzanine, sofas gather round the fireplace under the eaves, the place for a nightcap once the plates are cleared.
Sleeping is split over two floors, with two double rooms and the rest set up as twins. Each has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath, giving every pair a private place to get ready. The bedrooms are generously sized, most with a seating area of their own, and four open onto a balcony.
Meals are prepared for you on six days of the week. Mornings bring a cooked or continental breakfast, with afternoon tea laid out for your return from the slopes. Evenings open with an apéritif and canapés before three courses served with wine. On the hosts' night off, Val d'Isère's restaurants are yours to discover.
The steam room and hot tub are there to ease tired legs after a day's skiing, with bathrobes and slippers provided. A boot room beside the entrance hallway keeps skis and boots out of the living space. Towels and toiletries are supplied, the beds are made before you arrive and there is a mid-stay clean, with Wi-Fi included.
