Presentation
The blue Chaudannes piste passes just 20 metres from Chalet Aigle Royal, and you can ski back almost to the door. Finished in classic Savoyard style, this catered Tignes le Lac retreat sleeps 11 in six bedrooms. A hot tub, sauna and steam room are for its guests alone. It is well suited to a big party of friends or a couple of families holidaying together.
Living and dining share the second floor, a bright space with panoramic windows onto the mountains. A wood burner set against a stone wall warms the sofas, and a long table seats everyone for dinner. Terraces open off two sides, among them a large south-facing balcony made for soaking up the views.
Right at the top of the chalet, a twin and a single share an outdoor space, while a spacious twin has eaves at one end. The first floor, below the living room, holds three more twins, one with a balcony of its own. All six bedrooms are en-suite, five with a bath and one with a shower room.
The hot tub sits out on its own terrace, ready for when the skiing is done. Indoors, the sauna is on the same floor as the steam room. Bathrobes and slippers are provided for guests. A lift rises from the boot room at ground level.
On six evenings, canapés and an apéritif lead the way to a three-course dinner with complimentary wine. Breakfast is cooked or continental, and freshly baked cakes are set out at afternoon tea. Wednesday gives the hosts a breather, and the restaurants of Tignes le Lac are only a short walk away.
Towels and toiletries come with the stay, and every bed is made up ahead of your arrival. Wi-Fi comes free, and the week includes a mid-stay clean.
