Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac above the centre of St Anton am Arlberg, Chalet Angela-Arlberg is a traditional Austrian home for up to 14 guests. Six bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, sit alongside a bright living room and dining area. Larger families, groups of friends and clubs looking for a catered base with the village close by will feel at home.
Comfortable sofas and a television make the living room a pleasant place to swap stories from the slopes or the après-ski. It flows into the dining area, where breakfast is laid out each morning. Dinner, three courses cooked by the hosts, is served here six nights a week, and beer, wine and soft drinks are part of the stay. The hosts live outside the house, so once the meal is over the place is yours alone.
The six bedrooms are split between the second and third floors. Two twins on the second floor have en-suite bathrooms, and another twin has its own private bathroom across the hallway. Upstairs are two en-suite doubles and a triple with its own bathroom and room for an extra bed.
Five parking spaces at the chalet are useful for groups driving to Austria, and free Wi-Fi keeps everyone connected. Arriving guests find the beds already made and towels supplied, and the hosts keep everything tidy through the week before the final clean. The centre of St Anton, with its shops, restaurants and après-ski bars, is around a ten-minute walk downhill.
