Tucked into a quiet corner of Morzine, yet only a 10-minute walk from the centre, Lodge des Nants has its own indoor swimming pool, spa and roof-top hot tub. Seven bedrooms in this luxury chalet sleep up to 16, giving a large group of family or friends plenty of room. In winter, a call or WhatsApp at any hour brings a minibus to the door, aiming to arrive within 20 minutes. The driver runs skiers and their kit to the Pleney lift, out to Ardent or Prodains for Avoriaz, or over to Les Gets. Every journey is private and can be booked ahead, with pick-ups after an evening at the town's bars and restaurants part of the service.
Its top floor is made for entertaining, with a bar, a pool table and two seating areas around a central fireplace. Outdoor sofas on the deck take in the valley up to Avoriaz. One floor down, the open-plan kitchen and dining area lead onto wrap-around terraces, a natural setting for long dinners together. That level also has a cinema room for film nights.
Split between two floors, every bedroom is en-suite and can be made up as a double or a twin. Four of the en-suites have a bath and three are shower rooms, giving everyone space to get ready in private. An extra single can be added to one ground-floor room for a 16th guest. Bathrobes, slippers and The White Company toiletries are provided.
The pool is the showpiece, with a current to swim against beneath a starlit ceiling. Beside it are a spacious hammam steam room and a treatment room where a therapist can be booked, with a log barrel sauna just outside. Up on the roof, the hot tub is ready to ease tired legs after skiing.
Through the ski season, the chalet comes with its own chef and hosts. Breakfast and afternoon tea are served every day, with canapés and a four-course dinner on five evenings. Champagne, wine, spirits and beers are included, as is daily housekeeping. The chef's two nights off are a chance to try Morzine's restaurants, with the chalet's concierge on hand to book a table. Heated racks in the boot room dry boots and gloves for the morning. Private parking includes a sheltered double car port.
