Presentation
Chalet Sunnyside sits on a quiet cul-de-sac in Morzine with only a handful of neighbours, uninterrupted mountain views and a hot tub in the garden. Sleeping nine across four bedrooms and covering 184 m², it has the room for a large group of friends or several families travelling together. Set a little out of the centre, a free bus service stops a couple of minutes away, from which you can easily reach Morzine town centre, Pleney, Ardent or Prodains.
Inside, the open-plan living area is the heart of the chalet, with a wood burner and logs supplied, a smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker. Above it, a mezzanine gives a second place to settle. South-facing balconies and a terrace catch the sun through the afternoon, and the hot tub sits out in the garden with mountain views to enjoy.
Open to that same living area, the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, including a dishwasher and a Nespresso machine. A utility room with a washing machine helps with longer stays. There is a workstation too, for anyone who has to crank up the laptop during the week.
Three bedrooms have an en-suite of their own: one a double with an extra single bed, the other two with king-size or twin beds and room-darkening shutters. The fourth is a double whose bathroom facilities sit open to the room rather than behind a wall — worth knowing when you work out who sleeps where. You'll find the additional downstairs WC useful and it helps maintain privacy.
Super Morzine and the town centre can be reached on foot in 10-15 minutes over the suspension bridge. That lift opens up Avoriaz, Châtel and the Swiss side of the 600 km Portes du Soleil. The free Petit Train runs from there to Pleney and access to the Les Gets ski area, it is also where beginner lessons meet. The line M bus to Ardent drops you into the Lindarets valley and the Avoriaz pistes. There is a ski and boot room to keep gear out of the way, plus private parking. The chalet's hire partner is 100 metres away, and the village of Montriond is 15 minutes on foot for a quiet evening out.
The Portes du Soleil is more than a week's skiing, and the garden hot tub is a draw in its own right. Nine skiers and/or snowboarders under one roof will have a fantastic week at Chalet Sunnyside in Morzine.
