Presentation
In a quiet new development overlooking Morzine's Parc des Dérêches, Chalet Lorne is a modern self-catered chalet with a sun-soaked deck and a hot tub looking across the valley to the Pleney slopes and Roc d'Enfer. Five bedrooms sleep ten, or 12 with the sofa bed, so a big group of friends or family can settle in with ease. Morzine centre is a flat walk of ten to 15 minutes over the suspension bridge, and a free bus a few minutes away runs there one way and to the Ardent lift the other. A private driver can also be added in winter at extra cost, on call at any hour by phone or WhatsApp and aiming to arrive within 20 minutes, for any lift or restaurant in Morzine and Les Gets.
On the entrance level, the living space has two seating areas: one around the fireplace and one in front of the TV. The kitchen and dining room share the floor, with large picture windows looking out to the forest. Doors lead straight onto the deck, with a barbecue and outdoor dining table for long lunches.
Upstairs, all three bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The master has a king bed that splits into twins and an en-suite with a bath and a shower. Another king-size room can also be twinned, and a double completes this floor, each with a shower room. Downstairs, two more bedrooms can be set up as kings or twins, both with shower rooms of their own.
The lower floor also has a TV room with UK Sky TV, where a sofa converts to a double bed, plus a laundry room with a washer and dryer. There is parking in front of a private garage, which is handy for bikes, and storage for skis and boots. A Nespresso machine and The White Company toiletries are provided. Four-legged guests are welcome. For a bigger party, Lorne pairs with Chalet Blanc next door to sleep up to 22.
For a hot tub on a sunny deck, a fireplace and peaceful forest views close to Morzine, Chalet Lorne is hard to beat. It is a wonderful home for a sizeable group of friends and family spending a week in the Portes du Soleil.
