Presentation
On the sunny side of Morzine, Chalet Genevieve is a homely self-catered chalet with a hot tub on its patio and views over the Pleney slopes. Six bedrooms sleep 14, and sofa beds take the total to 19, so a large family or a big crowd of friends can all come along. Little ones are especially well looked after, with stairgates on every floor, cots, a high chair and toys. At the bottom of the drive, a free bus runs to the town centre and the Pleney lift, and Super Morzine is a 10-minute walk over the suspension bridge. Through the winter, the group can also add a private driver at extra cost: a call or WhatsApp at any hour brings a minibus, aiming to be there within 20 minutes.
Level three is the social hub. Big sofas gather round a stone log-burning fireplace, and the country-style kitchen has an island with six stools, a double oven and a coffee machine. A vintage French dining table seats 12, and a stocked drinks cabinet sits close by. The patio just off the kitchen has a gas barbecue, so the cooking stays part of the party.
There are five bedrooms plus a bunk room, and every bedroom has its own en-suite. The master on the top floor has a super king bed, an oval bath, twin sinks and a walk-in shower. One room on level two has an egg-shaped bath and a small sofa that converts into a floor-level bed for a child. Three of the bedrooms have balconies, two of them overlooking Pleney's slopes. The bunk room has four extra-large single bunks with reading lights, plus a double sofa bed, and it is served by a shower room in the hall. The sofa in the TV room can also become a double on request.
That TV room on level two has sliding doors for cosy film nights, and Smart TVs have Netflix, Disney and Prime. The garage doubles as a boot room with heated racks for ski boots, and there is parking for two cars in front. Underfloor heating runs throughout, a laundry room has a washer and dryer, and The White Company toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are provided.
