Presentation
Below the Pleney slopes, in a quiet part of Morzine just ten minutes on foot from the centre, Chalet 46° is a traditional farmhouse renovated into a catered home. Its south-facing garden has a large hot tub and a fire pit, while inside there is a sauna, a spa treatment room and a cinema room. Five en-suite bedrooms sleep ten as standard and up to 14 with the extra beds, which makes it a lovely fit for a big family or a large group of friends travelling together. All winter, a private driver is on call around the clock by phone or WhatsApp, and journeys can be booked ahead. Aiming to reach the door within 20 minutes, the minibus has Pleney and Super Morzine about three minutes away. Les Gets, and Ardent or Prodains for Avoriaz, are within reach too.
The top floor is one open-plan space, with a lounge, a wood-burning stove and views of Pointe de Nyon and the Pleney slopes. The dining area and kitchen sit alongside, with a beer pump on the island for pulling a pint.
All five bedrooms are on the middle floor, with doubles that can be set up as twins. The first has a bath in the room as well as a shower room. A family room for four has a double plus two single beds built into the eaves, a walk-in shower, a bath and a separate WC. Two more have shower rooms, and the fifth sleeps four with a double, a bunk bed and its own shower.
A sunny snug on that floor opens onto the garden and a large deck. Out here, the hot tub, an outdoor bar and sofas around a bespoke fire pit all catch the sun, with a pizza oven and barbecue alongside. On the ground floor, the sauna, treatment room and cinema room with its film library are made for winding down. A therapist can be booked for massages and other treatments.
In winter, the hosts serve breakfast and afternoon tea every day, and the chef's four-course dinners, with canapés first, fill five evenings. Every drink is included, from soft drinks to Champagne. Housekeeping is daily, and the two free nights are a good excuse to explore Morzine's restaurants. Heated racks in the boot room dry boots and gloves overnight. There is private parking, and the chalet is pet-friendly. For bigger groups, the self-contained Apartment 6° below can be added, taking the total to 20.
