La Croisette Chalet: Renovated with Patio, 4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8

Tucked into the La Croisette district of Les Arcs 1800, this renovated chalet looks south-west across the valley from its own terrace and balcony. It spans 100 square metres over three floors and sleeps eight across four bedrooms. A fireplace anchors the living room, and the afternoon sun pours in once the skiing is done. Set in woodland about a kilometre from the centre and the slopes, it is a secluded but comfortable spot for a group, and you can even bring the dog.

The living room sits on the first floor, with a sofa and armchair drawn up to the fire and a television for quieter nights. Doors open straight onto the terrace, the best seat in the house when the sun is out. The kitchen opens onto the same space, with three induction hobs, an oven, a dishwasher and a fridge-freezer. Whoever is cooking stays in the thick of it.

The bedrooms are split across the floors. On the ground floor, a large double has its own shower room, handy for anyone who would rather skip the stairs. Two floors up sit a second double, a twin and a bunk room, sharing a family bathroom with both a bath and a shower. Three toilets keep the mornings simple.

Downstairs there is generous storage for skis and boots, plus a washing machine and tumble dryer. A parking space sits right outside the door, with plenty more in resort, so a car is the easiest option here. The free resort bus stops around 400 metres away if you cut through the neighbouring residences (Prainan, Chardon and Croisette). Wi-Fi is included, a high chair can be provided, and dogs are welcome, a rare find for chalets in the Alps.

With its sunny terrace, open fire and secluded setting, this is a homely retreat on the outskirts of Les Arcs 1800. It suits a family or group of friends keen to ski the vast Paradiski area, where 425 kilometres of pistes link Les Arcs with La Plagne.
