Presentation
In the centre of Plagne 1800, Chalet Grand Chardon gives its guests the use of an outdoor pool, saunas and a squash court, shared with the rest of the complex. The piste is 200 metres away. This stylish catered chalet sleeps 12 in six bedrooms, all twins, with plenty of space for a sizeable group to spread out.
Downstairs, the open-plan living area pairs a big modern wood-burning stove with a long dining table for everyone. Beneath a timber ceiling, a leather corner sofa faces the TV, and the kitchen sits just off the dining area. A south-facing balcony opens off the living space.
Each bedroom has its own en-suite. Three twins share the lower floor with the lounge, and three more are upstairs, one under a sloping timber ceiling. Four of the six are larger. One en-suite has a bath, and the other five are shower rooms. Timber cladding and bold cowhide-print walls give the bedrooms character.
Freshly baked cakes greet you at teatime, and breakfast is cooked or continental. Dinner starts with canapés and an apéritif, followed by three courses with complimentary wine. The hosts are off on Wednesday, so that evening is yours to explore the village.
Beds are made before you arrive, and towels and toiletries are provided. Bathrobes and slippers are supplied as well. Wi-Fi is free and a mid-stay clean is included. Boot dryers in the hallway have boots dry for the morning. The Mélèzes lift and the ESF meeting point are a couple of minutes' walk away, and the free resort bus stops just outside.
