Presentation
Newly renovated and fully catered, Chalet Choucas sits less than 200 metres from the snow front in La Plagne 1800. It sleeps up to ten, so it works well for a large family or a big group of friends. The La Mine bar is a short stroll away, and the free resort bus stops just outside for Plagne Centre and Plagne Bellecôte.
Valley views stretch beyond the open-plan living and dining area, and a front balcony opens off it for some mountain air. A log-burning stove warms the lounge, a cosy place to gather once the lifts close.
Dinner is the centrepiece of the catering, with three courses and free-flowing wine or beer on five evenings, plus a cheeseboard if anyone has room. A daily breakfast includes a cooked special on most mornings, and a home-made cake is ready for afternoon tea. The hosts take two nights off a week, a good excuse to explore the village's restaurants, and they are happy to suggest a favourite.
All four bedrooms are en-suite with shower rooms. The ground floor has a double, two twins are on the first floor and a third twin sits under the eaves, with full standing height in most of the room. On request, one twin can become a family room for four, taking the total to ten. Two separate WCs are a useful extra and help with privacy.
Skis live in the ground-floor store outside, beside a boot warmer that dries boots overnight. Daily cleaning keeps everything fresh, and Wi-Fi is included. Transfers from Geneva are complimentary on a shared coach, provided flights land before 1pm on the Saturday and leave after 2pm a week later. Chalet Boudu sits directly opposite, so a bigger party can book both.
