Presentation
At Chalet Yéti, a convivial catered retreat in the Quartier des Chalets of Courchevel La Tania, a hot tub on the terrace looks across to the Grand Bec. Inside, a log fire warms the double-height living room. A short path leads from the door onto a gentle piste just 200 metres away. With six bedrooms and room for up to 13, it suits an extended family or a large group of friends.
Recent renovations added extra windows to the lounge, framing the forest beyond. Around the big round dining table, everyone gathers to swap the day's highlights over dinner.
Two twin rooms share the first floor with the living space, each with an en-suite shower room. Upstairs, a double and two more twins also have shower rooms. A triple with bunks plus a single bed has its own bathroom, making six bathrooms in all, with a separate WC by the entrance.
The hosts serve dinner with house wine on five evenings. On a sixth night there's a traditional raclette, and on the seventh the village restaurants are yours to explore. Breakfast and afternoon tea come every day, along with a clean on five mornings and beds made up before you arrive.
On the ground floor, a ski room with a warmer dries boots overnight, and there's free parking in the small car park beside the chalet. Ski school meets 250 metres away, and the snow front has a protected beginners' area with a covered magic carpet in a tunnel. The village shops are about three minutes' walk via the public lift in the Grand Bois building. Wi-Fi, satellite TV, a wireless speaker, books and board games are on hand, along with towels and hairdryers.
