Tucked away in the heart of Courchevel Le Praz, Chalet Chu Lo Dou pairs original stone walls with a fireside lounge. Named after the village's iconic 1970s hotel, this self-catered chalet sleeps 12 across five bedrooms, all en-suite. Several families travelling together or a large group of friends will have plenty of room.
Deep turquoise sofas and armchairs gather around the fireplace under stripped-back beams on the first floor. There are quieter corners too, for reading or gazing out at the pine forests, and a home bar with its own fridge for evening drinks. Downstairs, a large, well-equipped kitchen and dining room make it simple to cook and eat together.
A double sits at entrance level. Two more share the first floor with a bunk room, where two sets of sturdy wooden bunks sleep four. Up at the top, the master bedroom has a corner bath as well as a shower. Every double can be made up as twins for friends sharing, and with five bathrooms, every room has its own. Beds are made for your arrival and an end-of-stay clean is included. Wi-Fi, satellite TV, board games and a Bluetooth speaker are all here. Towels, hairdryers and lift pass delivery come as standard.
The ski room by the entrance has boot warmers, so boots are dry for the morning. Le Praz's bars, restaurants and shops are a minute's walk away, along flat streets that suit a pushchair. In under six minutes, the gondola rises to Courchevel 1850, where the ski school meets. Alternatively, the Forêt chairlift heads towards La Tania and over the Col de la Loze to Méribel.
