Presentation
A hot tub bubbling on the sunny terrace is the big draw at Chalet Brigitte, which offers stylish catered stays in the original part of Courchevel La Tania. The main gondola is only 60 metres away, with the ski school meeting place at 80 metres. Sleeping up to 12 in six bedrooms, it is a great match for a big group of friends or multiple families skiing together.
A beautiful contemporary renovation gives the interior a fresh, bright feel, with chic decor and comfy sofas. The living area, dining table and kitchen share the first floor, which opens onto the terrace. When you're back from the mountain, afternoon tea and a slice of cake are waiting.
Three bedrooms sit on the ground floor and three on the second. Each has an en-suite shower room, giving six bathrooms in all and privacy for getting ready.
Dinner is a sociable affair, with everyone gathered round the table for a home-cooked meal from your hosts. They serve it on five evenings with house wine, and lay on a raclette night on a sixth. Breakfast comes every morning too, and on the free evening the Taiga restaurant and lounge bar makes a handy local. A clean is included on five mornings.
Skis go in the ski room at the entrance, where a warmer has boots dry by morning. There's free parking in a car park very close to the chalet, and you can pull up right beside it to unload. Across the road, a public lift or stairs lead up to the village centre and its shops. Beginners will find a protected slope with a magic carpet on the snow front. Wi-Fi, board games, a wireless speaker and satellite TV are all part of the stay, plus towels, hairdryers and delivery of your ski passes.
Set beside the gondola with a hot tub on the terrace, Chalet Brigitte is a superb catered base in La Tania. A party of 12 or a gathering of families will have a brilliant week here, skiing the Three Valleys, the world's largest ski area.
