Presentation
Ski-in/ski-out in Avoriaz at 1800 metres, Electra opens straight onto the 600 km Portes du Soleil, so the skiing starts and finishes at the door. This apartment has one bedroom and room for four guests, which suits couples or a small family, and it comes with an unobstructed mountain view.
The balcony is where that view pays off, looking out across the mountains and catching the afternoon sun as it drops. Inside, the living room is bright, with a TV and useful storage. The kitchen opens onto the same room, where a Nespresso machine, a ceramic hob and a dishwasher cover everything from a fast breakfast before the lifts to a proper dinner once the skis are off.
The bedroom can be made up as a double or as two singles, with its own storage unit. Two sofa beds add the remaining two places, one of them a pull-out. A bathroom with a bath or shower and a heated towel rail sits alongside, along with a separate WC.
Skis and boots live in the residence's ski lockers, and the Skiset shop on site handles rentals, with pre-booked lift passes waiting at reception. Avoriaz is car-free, so the last leg of the journey is by horse-drawn sleigh or snowcat, and covered escalators run down to the resort centre. Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels come with the stay, and there is a restaurant on site. Dogs are welcome, and families can borrow baby equipment and games or make use of the kids' area.
The linked French and Swiss slopes of the Portes du Soleil are there to explore, with lunch back at the apartment whenever it suits. Four friends sharing or a family with young children will have a memorable week at Electra in Avoriaz.
